We went to the boardwalk in Daphne where you can see tons of alligators. The boys love looking at the gators...this particular day there were a few alligators out of the water and on the bank...they were a little too close for comfort! Here are some pictures...and my camera was NOT on zoom if that gives you an idea how close they were to us.

On Sawyer's birthday, we converted his crib into a toddler bed! He LOVES being able to get in and out of his bed by himself...he plays in the bed all the time! And he has had no problems with the switch. He goes right to sleep and stays in his bed!

I can't believe my baby is two years old! Time has flown by! He is such a joy...and so completely different than Hayden. Hayden is my quiet reserved one...Sawyer is going to be the life of the party! Here are some pics from his birthday! That morning we went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast. Then MeMe took us out to lunch at Burger King (one of the boys' favorites). After lunch, we went to Barnes and Noble so the boys could play with the trains. Sawyer found Tasha from the Backyardigans and would NOT let her go...he now sleeps with Tasha every night! On Sunday, all the grandparents came over for a mini celebration. He had a blast!

Since school starts next week, we had our last pool day of the summer! :-( Summer has flown by! The boys have LOVED going to the pool twice a week this summer! Thanks so much Jen for letting us come all summer long!

We went on a road trip to Pensacola with friends to Chuck E Cheese's! The boys had a blast! Hayden's favorite ride was the Bob the Builder ride...he rode it about 10 times! And Sawyer's favorite ride was the Barney ride and he LOVED his pizza lol!

I can't believe the summer is almost over! School starts next week! Hayden is going to be in preschool! And Sawyer will be in the two year old class...they are both growing up way too fast!

I am teaching 3 year olds this year and have been working hard getting my classroom ready! The boys have been great sports and played wonderfully in my classroom while I worked! And they now have a new fascination with the princess dress up clothes lol! One of the other staff kids helped Sawyer put this skirt on and he pranced around saying, "Princess!" Hayden joined in on the fun with a pink scarf and high heeled shoes! I couldn't resist a picture for Daddy to see! And I can definitely see these pictures being shown when they are seniors in high school...ha!!!

Hayden celebrated his birthday with his friends by going to the movies and eating lunch and playing at Chick Fil A! This was Hayden's first movie! He loved it! We watched Shrek 3...we went on the day the Rave was showing a free movie. I think Hayden's favorite part was the popcorn lol!

After having a sick child (Sawyer), I needed a night with just my girls! (Little did I know that the rest of us were going to get sick starting the next day!) Holly, Jamie, Jennifer and I all went to eat sushi! It was my first time trying it and I loved it! I have always been too scared to eat it...thanks girls for making me try it! After dinner, we traveled to Mobile to a Dream Dinners preview party. We got to take home one meal...yummy Sweet Cider BBQ Chicken!

My first bite of the Daphne Roll...yummy! And I can't use chopsticks...so I used my fingers instead lol!

On Hayden's actual birthday we went to Brayden's house to play. We also ate lunch with Daddy...at Burger King. Hayden wanted "king chicken" lol! He calls it this because the kid's chicken nuggets are shaped like crowns! He and Sawyer got a crown to wear on their head and Hayden did not take that crown off all day long! I went to check on him before I went to bed and he was sleeping with it on lol! Crazy kid! He had a great day!

The stomach bug went around our household something fierce! First Sawyer got it...I have never seen him so sick poor baby! Then I got a mild case of it. Then Hayden got it BAD! Then Daddy got it! Whew! It was a rough week! Hopefully we will stay well for a while!

VBS 2009...The Boomerang Express!!!

Our VBS theme this year was set in Australia! And one of the main decorations was a train so Hayden was sooo excited! He had so much fun in his class and Sawyer did too! Holly and I taught 5 years olds and they were a blessing! We had all girls and they were so much fun! I was unable to get pictures of Sawyer because it would upset him too much if I went into his room to take a picture and leave lol! Hayden was a different story! We finally found a time when we could get away for the night! I won tickets to the Eli Young Band concert at the Hard Rock Casino in Biloxi. So Andy got off work at the restaurant that night and Grandma and Papa came to babysit and we took off that afternoon to spend some much needed time together! We had soooo much fun! It was great to get away! And the concert was awesome! Those guys rocked!

4th of July Weekend!

Hope everyone had a happy 4th of July! We started out celebrating on Friday with Daddy at the beach! The boys had so much fun playing in the sand and water! Daddy had to work all day on the 4th so I took the boys to our friend's house who were having their annual 4th of July party. We got to eat lunch and swim all afternoon. Then the boys got to play outside on the inflatables until fireworks time. They had a blast! Both of the boys were scared of the fireworks because they were so loud. When we got home, the city of Daphne fireworks were about to start. Since they were being shot off right across the road from our subdivision we were able to sit in our backyard and see them! Plus they weren't as loud this way and much more enjoyable for those sensitive ears! We had a great 4th and the only thing that would have made it better is if Daddy could have been there with us!

At the 4th of July Party: The Armbruster's, The Eady's (Hosts), The Bobe's, The Hubble's, The Kennington's, and The McCormick's. The Hite's were missing in this picture because they joined us later that evening.

Life has been so crazy lately that I haven't updated this blog in 3 months! So sorry...I haven't forgotten about it and will try to do better!

We have been having a wonderful summer! The boys have enjoyed going to school 2 days a week, going swimming 1-2 times a week, and hanging out with their friends! We also took our family vacation to Disney World where we all had a blast!

We went to the church's Easter eggstravaganza this weekend. It was a little crazy...the first egg hunt was for ages 4 and under. So Hayden got ZERO eggs and Sawyer only got 1 because Mama picked it up for him. Hayden was sooo upset and just cried and cried because he didn't get any eggs. Fortunately the next hunt they divided the ages up more and he was able to get a few eggs. Whew!

We had a ton of rain a few weekends ago. It left a tiny river in our backyard. The boys were dying to go outside once it stopped raining...and being the crazy parents we are we let them. Sawyer had the BEST time playing in the mud and water! Hayden was a little more hesitant...he didn't want to get his clothes or shoes wet. So we eventually took his pants and shoes off and he still hesitated about stepping in the water and mud lol! They are so different!

We did something crazy! And we did it on Fat Tuesday of all days! We traded in Mindy's blue Honda Accord for a red Honda Odyssey minivan. And we love it! There is so much extra room! It will be wonderful for our trip to Disney World this summer! Never thought I would be driving a minivan!

We took the boys to Daphne's Apollo Mystic Ladies parade on Thursday night! They weren't very thrilled about it lol! Hayden was more into sitting back and watching then trying to catch beads! And Sawyer was scared to death...he cried the whole time and didn't stop until we got back in the car! Of course, all of that could be due to the fact that they got hit with several items that were being thrown off the floats lol!

It was time for another haircut for Sawyer! His bangs were so long they were getting into his eyes! Daddy wanted to give it a try since he has always cut Hayden's hair (minus the very first haircut, just like Sawyer). It was very tricky....have you ever tried to get a one year old to sit still because you are coming towards his head with a pair of scissors? Very hard to do I must say! Daddy finally ended up getting out his clippers...with the promise not to cut Sawyer's hair too short. The haircut turned out cute...way to go Daddy! Mommy would have never been able to do it!

During the boys' Christmas vacation from school, we had several playdates! One of these of course included going to play with Isabel and Morgan! Hayden had a couple of firsts this day...Isabel showed him how to ride a skateboard and scooter! Sawyer had a blast playing with the soccer ball, in the car, and in the house. Both boys were so disappointed when it was time to go home!

Christy came into town for Christmas and was staying at Amy's. So my wonderful husband watched the boys so I could go spend some time with them! We had so much fun hanging out! We went to dinner and then we went and saw Twilight (the second time for them and third time for me)!!! After the movie, we went back to Amy's and watched another movie. I stayed the night so we had more time in the morning. It was great! Thanks Andy for letting me spend time with my sisters! And thanks Colin for giving up your bed for me lol!

On Christmas Day, everyone came to our house again! And we had additional guests this year...my sister Amy, her husband Colin, and their kids, Alexa, Tyler, and Kyla came too! On Christmas Eve Grandma, Papa, and Aunt Katie came to stay with us. The boys decorated their annual gingerbread house with Aunt Katie, we baked cookies for Santa, and we prepared food for the next day. We LOVE having them over on Christmas Eve!

We had Christmas with Andy's Mom's side of the family (Griffith's) on Sunday the 21st. We ate yummy boiled shrimp, potatoes, and corn! We then played our annual dirty santa game with the adults. It was great spending time with the family!

Hayden's class sang several songs at their Christmas program! They sang "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" and "We Wish You a Merry Christmas." It was so cute!!!

He did great on stage! It was hilarious watching him point to his nose during Rudolph...can you guess which finger he used??? Yes, his middle finger! He has pointed with that finger ever since he was a baby. Maybe one day he will understand that it is not nice to point with that finger lol! Sawyer has started pointing and, thank goodness, he uses the correct finger!!!

Last weekend we had our Sunday School Christmas party! Our first party of many this holiday season lol! The boys had fun because there was a special guest at our party...Santa! He brought the kids each a present! They were excited!

We went to see Santa at the Bass Pro Shop! They had a winter wonderland display that was so neat! Hayden was so excited! He was sooo shy when we actually got up there to see Santa. It was so cute! Sawyer wasn't real impressed lol! Maybe next year!

The boys had a blast decorating the tree this year, especially Hayden! He kept saying, "I want to help!" And Sawyer had a blast walking around with the saran wrap (Andy wraps the tree in saran wrap each year to help it fit better in the box)!

Hayden caught the Fifth's disease that has been spreading throughout school. Luckily, it is a very easy illness...cold symptoms at first and then you get a red rash. By the time you get the rash, you are not contagious anymore. Hayden never acted sick and the rash didn't bother him a bit. Look at those poor red cheeks though!

And as you can see, Sawyer doesn't have it...yet lol!

Yes I am one of the Twilight fanatics! I LOVE the books and the movie was awesome! My friend Rhonda, who I taught with, got me hooked on the books. We went to see the movie together along with her neice Christy. And yes, we even made T-shirts!!! We're crazy but it was a lot of fun!

Thanksgiving Feast!

Hayden and Sawyer had their annual Thanksgiving Feast at school. Hayden's class got on stage and performed two songs, "10 Little Indians" and "Grey Squirrel." They were all so cute! Hayden looked scared to death on the stage lol! The food was very yummy! Hayden actually ate some of the turkey..this is a first for him! Sawyer slept through most of the feast but when he finally woke up he enjoyed eating a roll! He didn't like the turkey though!

Hayden is getting so big! He is talking so good now! He loves school! And big news...HE IS PEEING IN THE POTTY!!! As long as I take him about every 2 hours...otherwise he will still go in his pull up. But hey, it is a start! Still working on the pooping in the potty but I am told that comes later. It will be so good when there's only one little person in diapers around here lol!

To celebrate my birthday, we planned to go out to eat to my favorite restaurant, Macaroni Grill. Andy's parents and sister Katie went with us. Andy surprised us all by renting a limo for us to ride in!!! It was so much fun! The boys thought it was so cool...Hayden kept saying, "This is a big 'ole car!" Dinner was fantastic! Thanks Babe for making my birthday so memorable!

We had several friends come over to trick-or-treat with us! Afterwards, everyone came and ate desserts and celebrated Andy's birthday with us! Check out all the baking I did (I am quite proud of myself)! I have discovered that I am horrible at cake/cookie decorating though...thank goodness it was Halloween...it was a good excuse for why my writing looked so scary lol!

Grandma, Papa, and Aunt Katie all came over for our pumpkin carving party! We all had a blast! We ate dinner, they brought me a wonderful ice cream cake for my birthday, and then we carved the pumpkin! The boys enjoyed the whole process...except for maybe the yucky insides and seeds. But then Grandma made pumpkin pie for us all to enjoy...yummy!

Hayden's class went on a field trip to Wales West Railway and Pumpkin Patch! He had a blast! He got to ride a real steam train (which he LOVED) and pick out a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch and decorate it. He also got to blow the train's whistle!

Ok...well it is SUPPOSED to be a haunted house! But the package did not say that the icing wasn't already made and Mommy didn't have 2 lbs. of confectioner's sugar to make it with. So Daddy attempted to put it together with regular cake frosting but it wouldn't stand up. So he made his own "house", we slapped some frosting on it and just let the boys have fun! That was the whole idea anyway! It turned out pretty cute!

It's that time of year again! This is my favorite time of the year! Halloween is so much fun...especially now that we have kids! Maybe I like it so much because it is Andy's birthday and my birthday the next day....who knows! I just love it! We have been busy decorating the house and modeling our costumes for the camera! Hayden is going to be Thomas the train (surprise, surprise) and Sawyer is going to be a baby lion! They look so cute all dressed up!

Andy's boss gave us tickets to the Auburn game last Saturday. I have the most wonderful husband ever because he let me go to the game with a friend and he stayed at home with the boys. He knew I needed a break since he has been out of town and gone a lot studying for his exam. My good friend Rhonda, who I taught with a few years ago, went with me. We had a blast!!! Thanks so much Babe for letting me go! I so needed it!

The volunteer fire department came to school and all the kids got to climb in and on the firetruck. One of the firemen even put on his suit to show the kids! Hayden LOVED the firetruck. Andy was out of town for 3 weekends in a row taking a class that is helping him study for his PE exam. So the boys and I spent one of the weekends at MeMe's house. First, we met my best friend from 4th grade for lunch and then went to the park. It was great catching up with Amy and the boys loved her! Then we were off to MeMe's for the night.
